The EUSynBioS Symposium 2020 is going online!
The fifth EUSynBioS Symposium will take place on the 2nd of November online, with a special focus on entrepreneurship and the future of synthetic biology. This year, the symposium is jointly organized with the fifth meeting on Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe, ASBE V, which will follow up from the 2nd to the 4th of November. The event was initially scheduled to take place in Delft, The Netherlands, but due to the COVID19 pandemic it was rescheduled as a completely virtual event.
Since the first event in London, the symposium has been one of the main pillars of EUSynBioS’ activities. It offers young synthetic biologists a platform to present their research and meet fellow European and international peers, promoting the establishment of new connections within the community and providing a unique opportunity for the exploration of the rich and diverse European synthetic biology landscape. With new emphasis on entrepreneurship, we aim to bring the idea of a new global bioeconomy to the spotlight as well as the challenges and opportunities that come along, especially from a European perspective. In this context, it is also our aim to look ahead and draft a vision for the future of synthetic biology. Where will synthetic biology take us, and what can we expect in the years to come?

Joint Meeting with ASBE V
ASBE V is a meeting sponsored by the Bioengineering and Bioprocessing Section in collaboration with the Microbial Physiology Section of the European Federation of Biotechnology. The event will explore the multiple aspects of applied Synthetic Biology research, covering bioproducts and applications of different biological systems from bacteria through yeast to mammalian cells. It will thereby emphasise the commonalities, overlaps and links between different approaches and applications of Synthetic Biology for biotechnological/industrial implementation.
The EUSynBioS symposium is scheduled for the morning of November 2nd, with a special registration offer for students and early career scientists who will also participate in ASBE V. To receive the discount, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and select EUSynBioS upon registration on the ASBE V official website. We are looking forward to meeting you online!
